We are pleased to confirm that the commitment, dedication and skill of our Criminal Defence Team has once again resulted in a client being unanimously acquitted.
Operation Broadus was a covert operation undertaken by Merseyside police into a well-established criminal network. It revealed evidence of an extensive and sophisticated conspiracy to supply large quantities of Class A drugs namely Diamorphine (Heroin) from Liverpool to South Wales, Avon and Somerset and Scotland coupled with the money laundering of the illegal profits.
29 persons were charged and following a trial that spanned from December 2015 to March 2016, our client was one of only two defendants to be acquitted. Although it initially started in South Wales, the case involved us dealing with the trial in Liverpool and acting in our client’s interests there, which we did to a successful outcome as they were acquitted by a unanimous vote by the jury.
This case symbolises the growing reputation of the Criminal Defence Team at Bowden Jones Solicitors. This goes to show that the firm is a national leader within this practice area and is able to successfully deal with any case throughout England and Wales.
